Community Engagement Learning Cohort: Queens + Long Island
Equipping Churches to Love Their Communities in Word and Deed
This 4-session learning cohort is for anyone—pastors, ministry leaders, and lay people—who want to help their church engage their community with both compassion and wisdom. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to grow an existing outreach, this cohort will offer practical tools, theological reflection, and real-life guidance to help your church be a faithful presence in your neighborhood.
What to Expect:
4 interactive sessions from July to August 2024
Practical, hands-on teaching from experienced leaders
A theologically rich framework for understanding God, self, neighbor, and place
Tools to develop a community engagement strategy rooted in your church’s context
Approaches that go beyond short-term charity toward long-term transformation
Optional follow-up coaching or site visits for additional support

We’re celebrating the amazing women in our lives with a joyful gathering right after our Sunday service. Bring your mom, a friend, a neighbor—everyone’s welcome! There will be delicious food, live music, and plenty of time to connect with others. Whether you're a regular or it's your first time visiting, we’d love for you to be part of this meaningful day.

Celebrate Easter with Us!
Join us for a joyful Easter Sunday service at 11:00 AM at People’s Church of Long Beach. After the service, stick around for a fun-filled Easter Egg Hunt — a perfect event for families and kids of all ages!

Soup Sunday
We’ll be having Soup Sunday as the kick-off to our Lenten Heifer Project International Fundraiser on March 16th after service. We are looking for volunteers to bring soup on that day. On the first Sunday of the month, we visit the residents at the Long Beach Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. During our time there, we build relationships, play games, encourage the residents, and facilitate a brief worship service. All are encouraged to join.
Thanksgiving Basket Outreach
Help fill baskets of food and deliver for those in need. All ages are welcome to help, children included.

Come join us for our Annual Trunk or Treat at the Church (111 Delaware ave). There will be a safe community to have your children around and of course candy for them too!
