ABOUT THE COHORT

You don't have to be an expert to share your faith.

Fear of rejection. Feeling inadequate. Not knowing what to say. If any of that sounds familiar, you're not alone, and you're exactly who this cohort is for.

This spring, People's Church is joining City to City NYC's Evangelism Learning Cohort — a free, structured cohort designed to help us exercise our spiritual conversation muscles and build a church culture where everyone has a role in sharing the good news.

Over five sessions — a mix of in-person gatherings and Zoom calls — we'll walk through a gospel-centered vision for mission, learn practical tools for starting and sustaining spiritual conversations, and work together toward a church community that is actively and naturally evangelizing.

SCHEDULE

Five Sessions, Spring 2026

A mix of in-person and Zoom. Free to attend. Commitment to at least four sessions requested.

Session One

Stay Near Jesus, Live as Sent People Evangelism that doesn't flow from a deep, living relationship with Jesus will eventually run dry. We begin here, not with strategy, but with the simple and demanding call to abide in Christ as the source of everything we do and say.

Session Two

Become Spiritual Detectives God is already at work in the lives of the people around you before you ever open your mouth. This session trains you to listen carefully, ask good questions, and notice where that work is happening so you can join it rather than manufacture it.

Session Three

Tell God's Story The gospel is not a formula to deliver but a story to tell, and it connects to the deepest longings and questions your friends are already carrying. We practice weaving the four acts of that story, creation, fall, redemption, and new creation, into the natural flow of real conversation.

Session Four

The Gospel as Invitation Coming to faith rarely happens in a single moment and almost always happens through a series of small, grace-filled steps. This session equips you to create those steps and extend invitations that are honest and compelling without being coercive.

Session Five — Final Gathering

Create Culture The goal was never to produce a handful of individuals who are good at evangelism but a community where speaking and living the good news becomes a way of life. We close by asking how leaders can align the values, stories, and rhythms of their church or organization around that vision.
